Deacon James Ricardo Floyd Sr (Binky), 85, Fayetteville, NC, formerly of Monessen, PA departed this life to live eternally with his Heavenly Father on October 22, 2018. He was born on February 07, 1933, son of the late Wilbur Floyd and Lucy Mobley. He was a Member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Monessen, PA where he served as Deacon and former member of Highland Baptist Church, Connellsville, PA where he served as Deacon.

Lifelong resident of Monessen, Binky retired as Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Monessen School District and a proud United States Air Force Veteran that served during the Korean War Conflict. In addition, he was a former member of Mon Yough #79 F & AM Lodge of Monessen, PA, current member of the Visual Impairment Services Team of Fayetteville, NC and current major spokesman for the Vision Re Center of Fayetteville, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Lorraine Floyd; one daughter, Surena Floyd; a sister, Melissa Hill; three brothers, Wilbur Floyd, George Floyd, and Reverend Robert Floyd.

Left to treasure his memories are two daughters, Rosena (Christopher) Mitchell, Fayetteville, NC; and Janet De La Cruz, New Jersey; son James R. Floyd, Jr, Monessen, PA; one brother, Reverend Thomas (Willie Mae) Floyd, Monessen; one sister, Deacon Mary Fullwood, Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren, Kristy, Randolph, Jacob, Rebecca, Jose and wife, Fernando, Quinte, James Michael, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends will be received on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Avenue, Monessen, PA 15062 from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm.

Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 from 10:00 until 11:00 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Avenue, Monessen, PA 15062 where funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Bishop Karl Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
