Obituary for James Stephen Bitner James Stephen Bitner, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away suddenly on June 25, 2018. Steve was born March 25, 1948 in Rushville to the late James Byron & Nioma (Evans) Bitner. Steve was a 1966 graduate of Arlington High School and later received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Purdue University.

Steve worked and lived in Indianapolis his entire adult life and had been with A&R Erectors, Inc in Indianapolis since 1993 as a mechanical engineer. He loved golfing & golf outings with his friends. Steve also enjoyed traveling and was very creative with metal artwork.

He is survived by a sister, Connie Sue Green of Carthage and his brother, John Richard (Barbara Ann) Bitner of Arlington, nieces & nephews, Stephanie Crupe, Justin, James (Jane) and Jonathan Bitner, great nieces & nephews, Jessica Crupe, Phillip Green, Samantha Crupe, Jazlynn, Jayson, Colton & Kaitlyn Bitner and great-great nieces & nephews, Erin, Jaxson & Hartley Crupe. Graveside services will be held at 4 PM Friday, June 29, 2018 in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery with Pastor Gary Holt presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
