Obituary for Madeline C. Gilbert Madeline C. Gilbert, 80, a long time Rushville resident, passed away June 11, 2018 at her home in Rushville. She was born April 5, 1938 in Connersville to Robert Weiss & Louise (Lacy) Elliott. Madeline married John Gilbert on October 10, 1961 and he survives.

She was a homemaker & long time member of the Rushville VFW. In addition to her husband, John, of Rushville, she is survived by her sons, John “Butch” Gilbert of Miami, FL, Steven Dean (Crissy) Gilbert of Rushville, her daughters, Penny Wesling of Shelbyville and Brenda (Bob) Bryant of Rushville, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Alva Elliott and a son, Gary Bogard.

Private graveside services were held in Rushville’s East Hill Cememtery. Pastor Mick Saunders and Moster Mortuary presided over services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
