Obituary of James Grochala Sr. Jim Grochala, 70, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. He was born on September 10, 1947 to Chester W. and Helen D. (Grzelak) Grochala. In 1969 Jim married Debbie Stahlman at Our Lady of Lebanon R.C. Church.

Jim graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1965 and attended Niagara University. He worked at the Ford Assembly Plant in Lorain, Ohio for many years before returning to Niagara Falls. Jim enjoyed riding his bicycle throughout the city just to keep fit.

He loved Polka dancing and was a regular participant on the “Polka Buzz” TV show in Buffalo, N.Y. where he acquired his nickname, Polka Jim Shorts. In addition to his mother, Jim will be missed by his son, James Grochala; sisters, Paula Zacher and Melanie Villar; 2 aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Chester; brother, Tim; and his fiancé, Edie Miller.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
