Sharon J. (Dunets) Hardenstine, 62, of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 26, 2018, following a brief illness. Sharon, born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 19, 1956, was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1974 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Niagara University, earning her Masters Degree in Education.

On September 25, 1976, Sharon married Harry L. Hardenstine, Jr. Until her illness and passing, Sharon was actively working as an office coordinator for the Department of Education at Niagara University as well as a part-time teacher at BOCES. Sharon was a devout Christian and worshiped at First Assembly of God and Bethesda Tabernacle. She was an amazing and talented decorator and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Sharon’s love for others will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her beloved husband, Sharon is survived by her mother, Gladys (Banfield) Dunets; daughter, Michelle (Philip) Mocniak; grandchildren, Adrianna and Zachary; father-in-law, Harry (late Teresa) Hardenstine, Sr.; sister-in-law, Rose Mary (Alan) Slack; brother-in-law, Thomas Hardenstine and many other family members, nieces, nephews and cousins. At the time of her passing, Sharon was surrounded by her cousin, Shirley Bolea; best friend, Beverly McKee; nieces, Teresa Slack and Kristen Smiech and nephews, Joseph Slack and Shawn Haseley.

She was predeceased by siblings, Barbara (Russell) Haseley and Edward R. Dunets. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, May 30th at 11:00 a.m. in First Assembly of God.

Private interment will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R. Goodlander of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Please visit www.
