James V. Florence, 76, of Bardstown passed away Monday January 21, 2019 at Landmark of Bardstown. He was born October 17, 1942 in Nelson County, and was retired from the Nelson County School System as a maintenance worker He was preceded in death by his father, Barker W. Florence. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Fogle Florence of Bardstown; two sons, James Q. Florence, Phillip E. Florence both of Indiana; step-daughter, Jessica Fogle of Bardstown; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother, Gladys Florence; two sisters, Sharon Florence (Max) Edlin of Lyon Station, Patty (Wayne) Barnes of New Haven; brother, Ronald (Leigh Anne) Florence of Perryville; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday January 24, 2019 at Barlow Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Pastor Tim Underhill will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Wednesday 23 and 9-11 am Thursday January 24 at Barlow Funeral Home Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
