Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A.M. at St. Edward’s Church, Celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin for Jane Otterman Edwards, 71, who died peacefully in her sleep from complications to cancer in Saline, MI on April 25, 2018.

Jane was born on May 29, 1946, a daughter of Donald and Velma Shaw Otterman. She graduated from Ursuline High School and Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Counseling. She began her teaching career at Bristol High School where she taught English and Spanish for 4 years.

She then spent 8 years at St. Edward’s middle school teaching language arts before moving on to Ursuline High School where she spent her remaining 20 years teaching Spanish. Jane was a member of Chi Sigma Iota, The Junior League of Youngstown, The Youngstown Country Club, The Daisy of the Dozen Garden Club and The Junior Newman Club. Jane is survived by her son, Charlie Otterman of Whitmore Lake, MI and his wife Carolyn Otterman; grandsons, Dylan and Brady Otterman; her brothers Tom (Sandra) Otterman of Huron and Peter (Nancy) Otterman of Madison, OH along with 6 nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her late Husband John R. Edwards and her parents Donald R. Otterman and Velma Shaw Otterman of Youngstown, OH. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, Boardman, OH on Monday, April 30th and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Edward’s Church 240 Tod Lane Youngstown, OH. 44504, on Tuesday May 1st.
