Janet Elaine Jones Murdock, 66, of S. Little Texas Road Kannapolis, NC, passed away Friday, May 25, at her residence. She was born February 9, 1952 in Cabarrus County to the late James Franklin Jones and the late Ella Nevada Belk Jones. Janet was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and continued her education at both NC A&T State University and Livingstone College.

She was a member of Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church where she served as the musician. Janet was also a member of the Mu Phi Epsilon Sorority and served as president in 1977. Services will be held Thursday, May 31, at Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, with funeral services at 2:00 PM.
