Janet Marie Daniels, age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at St. Joseph Health System at Holy Cross, South Bend, IN. Janet was born on November 7, 1931 in South Bend to Emery and Ella (Kertesz) Nyerges, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 29, 1953 in South Bend, Janet married Donald J. Daniels, who preceded her in death.

Janet is survived by sons, Paul (Leslie) Daniels of Hutto, TX, and Patrick A. (Cindy Gradeless) Daniels of South Bend; and grandson, Samuel Elijah Daniels of Hutte, TX. In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Ella Rose Smith, and her brother, Eugene “Fred” Nyerges. Janet was employed at South Bend Drug and JC Penny’s.

She attended St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, where she was a member of the church choir. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2320 E. Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, February 18th at Palmer Funeral Home—River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm.

Additional visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday at the church prior to Mass. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Janet may be donated to Riley Children’s Foundation, 30 S.
