Janice’s Obituary Janice Herndon Services for Janice Ann Herndon, 81, of Ada will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Rev. Brian Matthews officiated. Mrs. Herndon passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at an Oklahoma City hospice house.

She was born July 20, 1937 at LaRussell, MO to Kenneth Daniel and Fay Lorine Greeson Warren. She graduated from the St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, MO. She married James Herndon March 6, 1959 at LaRussell, MO.

Mrs. Herndon was employed with Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in the Homebuilders Sunday School Class. She was an avid bridge player and loved to travel.

Spoiling her grandchildren was her first love. Survivors include her husband, James, of the home; two sons, John Herndon and wife Carla, Coeur d’Alene, ID and Mark Herndon and wife Kelly, Norman; a daughter, Cynthia Herndon, Tulsa; a brother, Jack Warren and wife Kay, Mt. Vernon, MO; sister, Nancy Cantrell and husband Jim, Springfield, MO; her grandchildren, Samuel Herndon, Benjamin Herndon, Morgan Watson, and Jadrian Hammon; her two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, David Warren. Bearers were Ed Anderson, Ken Johnson, Dr. Bill Chapman, Dr. Gene Stephenson, Dr. Charles Vest and Steve Cody. Honorary bearers were Henry Katz, Tom Beebe, David Schallhorn, Dr. Nick Cheper and Dr. Bruce Van Horn.
