Janis Lynn Acevedo, age 70, of Dallas, GA. passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at WellStar Paulding Hospital. She was born on December 25, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY.

to the late John and Mary Porter. Mrs. Acevedo worked and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 7 years and was a homemaker. She was known as the rock of her family, she never forgot birthdays or special events and family always came first for her.

Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters; Mary Ann Smalley and Jackie Porter, as well as her brother in law, Uncle Sonny Smalley and her nephew, Glen Smalley. Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Etanislao Pablo Acevedo of Dallas, GA.

, sons; Michael (Ginger) Porter of Dallas, GA. , Jerome (Stacey Wilson) Reynolds of Villa Rica, GA. , Joseph (Stephanie) Alfonso of Dallas, GA.

, her 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great- grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her nieces, Mary (Cheech) Corales, Vicki Smalley, and Michelle Smalley. In accordance to Mrs. Acevedo’s wishes her body has been cremated and there are no services planned at this time.
