He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2019 in Clovis, New Mexico. He was taken too soon and will be greatly missed.

Jason Taylor entered into this world, full of curiosity and wonder, on August 22, 1975, to Wanda and Horace Guthrie, with much anticipation and excitement. In addition to 12 years of education, Jason earned a 4 year degree, as a Journeyman Electrician. Following his graduation, he was hired by Blattner Energy, where he worked until his death he was a highly respected and successful Foreman, by not only his peers but also those in management.

Everybody that met Jason on/at the job respected his work ethic, his company loyalty and devotion to safety and regulations. The jobs in New Mexico were only made possible because of his Journeyman Electrician license for the renewable energy projects. Jason was frequently quoted saying, “If you find your dream job, you never have to work a day in your life”.

His position with Blattner required Jason and Trisha to do extensive traveling in their travel trailer. The company truck provided an opportunity for them to experience the adventures of a lifetime. Jason was quite frequently overheard saying, “I have gasoline in my veins, and we’re ready to hit the road”.

This remarkable husband, son and brother was taken from us much too early but will remain in our hearts for eternity. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Larry T. Guthrie, March 28, 2007 and by his brother-in-law, Christopher B. Kidwell. Jason is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Trisha Guthrie of the family home in Albuquerque; his father, Horace M. Guthrie of Albuquerque; his mother, Wanda F. Guthrie of Albuquerque; his sister, Melissa R. Kidwell; his sister, Reatha A McCarroll; as well as other family members and friends who loved him greatly.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109, on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
