Obituary for (Jay) Luther Webster Doss Jr. (Jay) Luther Webster Doss, Jr., 82, passed away June 7, 2018 in El Paso, Texas. Jay was born June 5, 1936 in Roanoke, Virginia, the only son of Luther W. and Margaret Clark Doss. He was preceded in death by both parents and only sister, Freda “Sissy” Shelvatine Doss.

He is survived by wife, Verna Doss, Lenoir, North Carolina, and six children; Kathy Detweiler (Phillip), Mission, Texas, Robby Doss, El Paso, Texas, Kimberly Palmieri (Tony), and Sonja Dean both from Orlando, Florida, Crystal Michelle Hughes (Doug) Las Vegas, Nevada, and Sean Doss, El Paso. Jay is survived by thirteen grand-children; Jay Jarrett, David Jarrett, Christopher Yanez, Casandra Yanez, Joshua Doss, Justin Doss, Nycole Palmieri, Luke Palmieri, Chloe Palmieri, Amanda Dean, Jesse Dean, Dylan Trejo, and Ryan Trejo. He is survived by two great grand-daughters; Anneliese Delgado and Jayden Jarrett.

The family expresses special thanks to Sandra Doss of El Paso. Jay worked many years for KFOX-TV. He was a classic car enthusiast, especially Corvettes, and an avid collector of “old things”.

Jay loved road-trips across America and visited many National Parks. He enjoyed raising exotic birds, and a Pitbull, Whiskey, was his much loved companion. Visitation:5:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass.

Funeral Service:9:30am on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 4710 Hercules Ave. Committal:11:00am Restlawn Memorial Park, 4848 Alps, El Paso, Texas. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
