Jay R. Binker 62 of Ashville, passed away at home on Sat. May 26, 2018. He was born on Sept.

5, 1955 in Columbus to the late John M. and Beverly Jane (Buskirk) Brinker. Jay was a graduate of Teays Valley H.S. in 1974 and had attended OSU . During college he ws an assistant manager of the Harrison House Apartments on Lane Ave.

He retired form COTA as a driver after many years and had also worked for Greyhound for 10 years. He was a member of Hedges Chapel CCCU and was a proud member of the Transport Workers Union Local 208 in Columbus. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brother Jack and a sister-in-law, Candice Lee Brinker.

Survived by sister Brenda (Bill) Lesko of Marengo and 2 brothers, Mark (Judy) Brinker of Texas and Dan Brinker of Colmubus , Dan’s friend Lisa Speakman of Amanda ; nephew Sam Brinker of Columbus; also his second family Bob and Pat Pontius of the Ringgold area. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m on Sat. June 2, 2018 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with Pastor Jeremy Hurd officiating.

Interment will follow in Reber Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Jay requested in lieu of flowers that memorials could be made to Hedges Chapel Church 15495 Winchester Rd.
