Rotterdam – Lawrence M. Delewski, 85, passed away at home on Thursday May 24, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Rotterdam he was the son of Vincent and Helen Delewski. He served our country in the United States Army as a chaplain’s assistant in the medical corps.

He received a plaque referring to the “Delewski Gardens” recognizing his work in planting gardens in front of the chapel on base. Lawrence was a quality control inspector for Condec Corporation and Environment One both in Niskayuna retiring in 1996. Lawrence loved the outdoors and antique cars and will be remembered for being a devoted family man.

Lawrence was predeased by a sister Helen Nadeau. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, daughter, Deborah DeMarco, sister, Marge Delewski, sister-in-law, Doris Martin with several nieces and nephews across the country. He is also survived by his beloved companions, Anya and Grace.

A Mass of Christian Burial, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha 2216 Rosa Rd. , Schenectady. There will be no calling hours.

Burial with military honors will follow at Park View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. , Scotia, NY 12302.
