Rotterdam – Theresa A. Fusco, 89, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 12th, 2018. Theresa was born in Pittsfield, MA on November 27th, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Marguerite Chiacchiaretta. Theresa graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and later worked for the NYS Department of Tax and Finance for 20 years.

She was a very active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, belonging to the St. Theresa Guild there and singing in the choir. Theresa was also very active in the Ladies of the Rotterdam Elks where she was on many committees, planning parties and events. She was active in the Rotterdam Seniors and the Woestina Young at Hearts.

She also traveled the throughout the United States and Europe as a member of the CSEA Travel Committee. In Theresa’s spare time she liked to go shopping and she enjoyed the occasional manhattan. Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by one son, Tony Fusco as well as her sisters, Fay Della Villa, Nora Messercola and Elena Barbieri.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly 71 years, Anthony J. Fusco, her loving children, Sandra Krawczak (Michael), Karen Longo (Timothy) and David Fusco (Dawn), her grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Joshua, Zachary and Jeana (Justin) and one great granddaughter, Lennon as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 15th from 5-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam.

Funeral services will begin Wednesday morning at 10:15am at the funeral home and will be followed at 11am by a mass of Christian burial which will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.

Memorial contributions in Theresa’s name may be made the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. , Scotia, NY 12302.
