Jean’s Obituary Jean Dawalt Ruby was born in Knoxville, KY on September 25, 1926 and passed away in Dry Ridge, KY on January 28, 2019 at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Leland B. and Ora Caldwell Dawalt. In 1946 she was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Ruby who preceded her in death in March of 2002.

Mrs. Ruby was a lifetime member of the Knoxville Baptist Church. She drove a school bus for Grant County Schools for 22 years and she loved to fish and was an avid card player. She and her husband opened Ruby’s Boat dock on Lake Williamstown in 1957.

Mrs. Ruby is survived by 4 sons: Larry (Virginia) Ruby of Dry Ridge, Kenny (Sherry) Ruby of Dry Ridge, Randy (Linda) Ruby of Morningview, and Jerry Ruby of Owenton; 3 daughters: Rita (Jerry) Thompson, Wanda (Eddie) Switzer, and Mary Jo Keith all of Dry Ridge; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ruby was preceded in death by her siblings, Geneva Hisel, Norma Lawrence, John Dawalt, and a grandson, Matthew Scott Ruby in July of 1991. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 1, 2019 at Knoxville Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge. Memorial donations in Jean’s memory are suggested to the Cyctic Fibrosis Foundation c/o Team Chelsey Smiles, 4550 Montgomery Ave.
