Linda “Joyce” Oakley Taylor of Owenton, Kentucky July 29, 1951 – February 2, 2019 Linda “Joyce” Oakley Taylor, 67, passed away Saturday February 2, 2019 at her residence on Agee Road in Owenton after a brief bout of cancer. Born July 29, 1951 in Mt. Sterling, KY, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Oma Marie Puckett Oakley.

On November 17, 1969, Joyce was united in marriage to Johnnie Taylor; he survives. She was a homemaker; she enjoyed sewing, singing, fishing, planting flowers and playing card, but nothing could equal her love for her family. She literally poured her heart and life into her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately loved her as “Mammy”.

Joyce will long be remembered by her entire family, including her husband, Johnnie, two sons: Daniel W. (Mindy) Taylor of Owenton, Michael L. (Sherry) Shular of Owenton; two daughters: Regina (Kenny) Miskell of Florence, KY, Tammy Benton of Owenton, one brother: Danny (Patricia) Oakley of Owenton; two sisters: Debbie (Rodney) Beeler of Owenton and Sharon Wheeler of Georgetown, KY. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren (with special recognition to Aubrey, Danielle, Matthew and Zach); 15 great-grandchildren and a special brother and sister-n-law, Edith and Bobby Taylor from Williamstown, KY. A sincere “Thank You” goes to Tim Gamble and Holly Barnes for being loving, caring, compassionate caregivers during “Mammy’s” sickness along with best friend Brenda Widener.

Joyce was preceded in death by two grandchildren, one sister: Rachel Campbell and two brothers: Darrell Oakley and James Oakley. Visitation will be Monday February 11th beginning at 12 Noon and going till the time of the funeral ay 2 pm at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown location. Burial will follow in the Mt Hebron Cemetery in Owen County.

A fellowship meal will be hosted by Stonewall First Church of God following the internment. Contributions may be made toward the expenses of the funeral to Stanley Funeral Homes.
