Jean-Marie Florida Aubin, 62, of Southampton, passed away after a two year battle with brain cancer, on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by her daughters and husband. Born in Fall River on October 23, 1955, she is the daughter of Florida (Giguere, Lavoie) Trepanier and the late Robert Lavoie. She grew up in Swansea where she graduated from Joseph Case High School in 1973, and a graduate of Bristol Community College in Fall River.

She graduated from the Smith College Ada Comstock program, Northampton, in 1991 with a degree in Education. She was a brilliant Educator who dedicated her career to teaching literacy, writing, and anything else she could, hoping to change the lives of every student in need. After retirement she followed a dream and opened a small consignment shop, Frugal Fashionista, in Westfield.

Jean-Marie is survived by her mother Florida Trepanier of Swansea, her husband of 40 years, Mark Leandro, and three daughters, Keri-Ann Aubin of Easthampton, Jodi Herman and husband Matthew of South Hadley, and Ami Aubin and husband Michaelangelo Wescott of Chesterfield, her three siblings Diane Carmello of Swansea, Robert Lavoie of Fall River, Deanna Trepanier of Swansea, and six grandchildren who she devoted her life to, Kevin, Steven, Sidd, Che Diago, Emily and Dillan. She also held a special place in her heart for her niece Destiny, who she loved dearly, along with her other nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday July 28, 2018 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Mitchell FuneralHome, 15 Park Street, Easthampton, followed by a gathering from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Summit View, 555 Northampton St. (Rt.

5), Holyoke. www. mitchellcofuneralhome.com Jean-Marie loved colorful fashion, her favorite colors being purple and teal.

Her daughters would like to let family and friends know that colorful clothing would be appropriate to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jean-Marie’s name to The Cancer Connection and The Literacy Project, both in Northampton.
