Obituary for Jean Nance Henderson Jean Nance Henderson, 97, of Moore, SC, died Friday, June 8, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 16, 1921, in Union, SC, she was the daughter of the late Edward Valentine Atkinson and Myrtle Mae Henderson Atkinson and widow of Roy Edward Henderson. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Mrs. Henderson retired from Foley Diamond Center in Wilmington, DE after 32 years of service.

Survivors include her son, Howard “Buddy” G. Nance of Spartanburg, SC; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Marie M. Atkinson with whom she made her home; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Jessie Kelly, Terry Smigel, and Betty Sprouse; and three brothers, Donnie Atkinson, George Atkinson, and Rudolph Atkinson. Private family services will be conducted at a later date.
