Obituary for Jean Byrd (Wofford) Jean Wofford Byrd, age 87, of Dover, TN, passed away November 26, 2018. She was born August 6, 1931, in Stewart County, TN, daughter of the late Mulligan and Vivian Tubbs Wofford. Mrs. Byrd was a retired Level 3 Career Ladder, Master Teacher, teaching first grade in the Stewart Co. School System for 30 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dover and very active in numerous community affairs in Dover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Lancaster Byrd, daughter, Jill Byrd, and brother, Thomas Wofford. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Max Byrd, (Laura), Rome, GA, and daughter, Lisa Pavlik (Don), Newbury, OH, seven grandchildren, Adam, Seth, Ethan, Trevor, Whitney, Tyler and Daniel, and six great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 1st, at Anglin Funeral Home, with Bro. Garrette Milliken officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Dover, TN.

Visitation will be Friday, November 30th, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home.
