Jerry’s Obituary Jerry Alan Arnevik of Troy, MO and formerly of Thompson, Iowa passed away at his home near Troy on March 19th due to complications associated with Parkinson Disease. Jerry was born in Forest City, Iowa on August 9th, 1938 and he lived his life in the north central Iowa area until he and his wife Cindy moved to the Troy area in 1999. He was known wherever he went for his outgoing personality, an ability to start conversations with complete strangers, an unforgettable smile and his generosity to those less fortunate.

He loved fishing, cowboy boots that fit like a glove, great coffee and fine scotch whiskey. Jerry held numerous jobs over the years in manufacturing, sales and banking. In fact, he used to joke that he never could hold a steady job.

However, his passion and love was agriculture and he farmed in the Thompson area for many years, retiring in 2001. After retiring to Missouri, he enrolled at the Landmark College of Knowledge where he became the resident expert on agriculture and all things Iowa and is officially recognized as a graduate of this esteemed group. After retiring, he would travel back each spring and fall to help with planting and harvest telling his friends at the local coffee shop he was going up north to supervise.

While in Missouri, he also became an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Jerry is survived by his wife, Cindy of Troy, Missouri, sons, Daniel (Lonnie) and Brad (Holly) both of Thompson, IA and daughter-in-law Mary Beth (Joe) McEuen of Chesterfield, MO In addition he is survived by two sisters, Sylvia (Mark) Gulick of Johnson City, TN, and Sara Stensrud (Maynard) of Waseca, MN and a brother Marlin (Mary) of Melbourne, FL. He is survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

He was proceeded in his death by his parents, his son Scott and his sister Sandra of Lake Mills, Iowa Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23rd in Thompson, Iowa. A cobbler to celebrate his life will be held in the future for all of his friends in the Troy area.
