OBITUARY Jerry LeRoy WILLIS December 31, 1933 – July 17, 2018 Jerry L. Willis (“Frenchy”), 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away July 17, 2018. He was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin. He is survived by wife, Alma Santa Cruz Willis; daughters, Shawn M. Schaeffer, Carmel R. Van Heusen, Lea M. Willis; grandchildren, Carma Lytle, Wesley Schaeffer, Charles Schaeffer; great-grandchildren, CyLee Van Heusen, Jeffrey Lytle; great-great-granddaughter, Cali Mae; brother, Carl Nordell Willis; former wife, Betty Willis.

He is preceded in death by sisters, Nadean Couey and Joy Felton. After high school, he served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. After military service, he worked for the City of Jacksonville Property Appraiser’s Office and after 28 years, he retired.

Frenchy was a Jacksonville Jaguar and Wisconsin Badgers fan. He enjoyed gardening and had a passion for dancing – it was love at first sight across the American Legion dance floor when he saw Alma, his dance partner for 18 years. Celebration of Life Visitation from 2-3:30 pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd.

, Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Committal Service with military honors at 2:30 pm on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. , Jacksonville, Florida.
