A memorial mass for Jerry will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shenandoah with Father Raphael Assamah as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials in Jerry’s name are being directed to the family. Jerry Maher was born on a fine fall day, November 14, 1953, to Wilma and Frank Maher of Imogene.

He was the ninth child of thirteen (God Bless you, Wilma! ). Jerry was one of the smaller siblings but with a big heart.

He let his presence be known –milking cows (which he hated), taking care of livestock, walking beans, putting up hay, etc. etc. – all that stuff farm kids had to do back then.

Jerry had a love of life and wouldn’t back down from any adventure, task, or person (no matter how big they were! ). He loved playing poker, making people laugh, PBR, the Tall Corn, taking naps and telling jokes that he made up.

His greatest accomplishments were through his five children — Todd, Jeremy, Kate, Adam and Natalie. Many, many great memories. He also took great joy in “spooking” his grandchildren: Bailey, Summer, Daniel, Noah, Aliah, Jaythan, Nellie and Rubie.

They were special to him. Thanks, Jerry, for sharing your life with us.
