Obituary of Jerry Hendey Jerry L. Hendey, 73, Gas City, passed away in his home at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. He was born in Marion on April 13, 1945, to the late William G. and Geraldine F. (Shane) Hendey. On October 30, 1964, Jerry married his sweetheart, Kay Louise Kinzie, and they shared 50 years together before she preceded him in death on May 21, 2015.

A lifelong resident of Grant County, Jerry graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1964 and retired from United Parcel Service, where he was a driver. He had a passion for old cars/street rods and avidly attended car shows. Any opportunity Jerry had, he loved to go bass fishing.

Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by sons, James (Melissa) Hendey, Marion, Brett (Bridget) Hendey, Gas City, and Steven (Monique Myers) Hendey, Fort Wayne, and Nicholas (Cali Curley) Hendey, Indianapolis; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Hendey, Edwardsville, Illinois, and Richie Hendey, Marion; and sister, Carolyn Johnson, Tucson, Arizona. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Hendey.

Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, with David Ring officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City. Online condolences may be made at www.
