On February 26, 2019, Jesse F. Slatcher Sr. passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Springfield on December 12,1956 to his parents David and Virginia (Phelps) Slatcher. He worked at Bulk Disposal for over 8 years, and was also a roofer and a mechanic.

He loved helping others with their cars, and home improvements. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed having drinks with his friends at the City Hotel. He is survived by his children Jesse Jr, Christopher, Frankie, and Caty Slatcher, Jennifer Day, Jamie Vernes, and Shelley.

He leaves his sisters Sandra Cardinal and Michelle Cannerdy. He leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his life long friends Steve and Kathy, with whom took great care of him over the past 15yrs.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Wayne Tovet and David Slatcher. Graveside burial will be at 10am on March 5,2019 at Pinehill Cemetery in Westfield. Asking all who wish to attend to please be at the cemetery at 9:50am.
