Jesse’s Obituary Jesse A. Maize Jr. 69 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (March 13, 2019) at his home. The son of Jesse A. and Pricilla Fern (Beall) Maize, he was born November 23, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri. On May 30, 1970 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Connie Claybrook.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Connie; two sons, Michael Maize of Kirksville and Marty Maize and Amanda of Kirksville; six grandchildren, Cody Maize and Christy, Morgan Maize, Bryant Maize, Trenten Maize, Bowen Maize, and Anna Grace Maize; one brother, Jack Maize and wife Marie of Kirksville; his mother-in-law, Valee Claybrook of Kirksville; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Hatcher of Kirksville; brothers-in-law, Joe Claybrook & Della of FLA, Jimmie & Caren Claybrook of Iowa and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and his father-in-law. Jesse attended the Kirksville Schools and later received his G.E.D.

He served in the United States Army from April 24, 1969 until his honorable discharge on April 14, 1971. He worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory, Kirksville Fire Department, was the manager of the north Pizza Hut for 20 years and for Standard Register until he retired. He enjoyed Deer Hunting, cars especially his 69 Chevelle, watching wrestling and spending time with his grandkids.

He had a great love for his family. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (March 15, 2019) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (March 16, 2019) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Hospice.
