Anniston – Funeral services for Jewell Aderholdt Magouyrk, 84, will be Friday 2:00pm at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Pearce and Rev. Mike Owens officiating.

Burial will follow in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30pm until service time. Mrs. Magouyrk was born on December 21, 1933 and passed away September 23, 2018 at her home.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years that she married on February 2, 1951, William H. (Pete) Magouyrk; sons, William A. (Tony) Magouyrk and Suzan of Oxford, Waylon L. Magouyrk and Reba Gay of Ohatchee, David W. Magouyrk of Saks; grandchildren, Shawn Magouyrk and Pam, Mark Magouyrk and Tammy, Joseph Magouyrk and Maranda, Hannah Lehr and Jonathan, Landon Magouyrk and Rebekah Magouyrk; and many great-grand children. Mrs. Magouyrk was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Dean Aderholdt; mother, Bertha Azele Nelson Aderholdt; brothers, C. D. Aderholdt and Nelson Aderholdt; sisters, Ruth Wilkerson, Virginia Fleming, Hazel Bain, Lela Mae Wilson, Mary Nell Smith and Adah Lea Houck. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shawn Magouyrk, Mark Magouyrk, Joseph Magouyrk, Jonathan Lehr, Landon Magouyrk and great-grandson, Aidan Magouyrk.

Mrs. Magouyrk was retired from Sears and Roebuck Company and for many years was part owner of Jewell’s Friendly Tax Service. She was a longtime member of 49th Street Independent Missionary Baptist Church and was also the last living child of Calvin D. Aderholdt’s 23 children. The family would like to extend their gracious appreciation to New Beacon Hospice, especially Kacy Savona and Dean Pearce.

Also, a special thanks to caregivers, Tonya, Sarah, Jody and Gail, Chaplin Michael and social worker, Gloria.
