OBITUARY Bettye W. Elkins August 28, 1930 – September 9, 2018 Funeral services for Bettye Whiten Elkins 88, will be Thursday September 13, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Saks with Rev. Dan Elkins officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday September 12 from 6- 8 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Survivors include her sons, Donnie (Lisa) Elkins, David (Donna) Elkins, Drew (Ann) Elkins; sisters, Peggi (Woody) DeLeiul, Mary (Ron) Weldon; brothers, Mallory (Dot) Whiten, Robert (Juanita) Whiten; grandchildren, Daniel (Marianne) Elkins, Sean (Brooke) Elkins, Brandon Elkins, Emily Elkins, Coleman (Cara) Elkins, Austin Elkins, Carter Elkins and several nieces and nephews. Caregiver, Barbara Gay.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Elkins, four brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Elkins was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and member of First Baptist Church of Saks, where she taught third grade Sunday school class for 53 years and was a member of the choir.
