Anniston – Funeral service for Mr. Gregory Allan Turner will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Jonathan Pate will be officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Per the family’s request, private burial will follow the service. Allan was born in Anniston, Alabama on May 7, 1991.

He departed this life on August 30, 2018, in Nashville, TN, while working on the line. Allan is survived by his sons, Kyran Wayne Turner and Sawyer James Turner; his father, Greg Turner; his mother, Shirley Millwood and step-father, Scott Martin; his brother, Dakota Millwood; his sister, Shayla Millwood; two step-brothers, Lance Riley and Lee Riley; his children’s mother, Wittney Crumley; his niece and nephews, Jayden Millwood, Athena Millwood and Lucas Millwood; his dearest uncle and aunt, Jimbob and Gloria Turner; his grandparents, James and Lorene Cash; his grandmother, Glenda Dale Martin, his Nana, Shelba Argo; a host of other aunts, uncles and cousins; his special friend and brother, Tyler Matlock; his work family; and so many other great friends that were his chosen family. Pallbearers will be Tyler Clark, Clay Holt, Blake Jones, Tyler Matlock, Brent Oliphant, Raliek Santiago, Zach Thrasher and Jalon Turner.

Honorary pallbearers will be his foreman, Nathan Purcell, and his work crew. Allan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Donny Turner; his grandparents, Frances and Charles Hamilton; his great-grandparents, Bob and Edna Turner; and his step-mother, Cindy Turner. Allan was a Journeyman Lineman and was employed with Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc

He loved being a Lineman and was a dedicated and hard worker. Allan was passionate about doing his job and was proud of his lineman family. He was a great father and son and a protector of his family.

Allan was a precious and gentle soul who spent his life always helping others. He genuinely loved life, his family and his chosen family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made in his memory to: The Fallen Lineman Organization, Inc. Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 1453, Madisonville, LA 70447.

An annual scholarship will be set up in his memory to help others. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his work family, Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. and to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for their support and care.
