Anniston – Funeral service for Mrs. Virginia “Ginny” Garner Thackery, 91, will be Wednesday at 2 pm at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. David Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Following the service, Mrs. Thackery will be laid to rest next to her husband of 55 years, SGM JP Garner. Mrs. Thackery passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at her residence. She is survived by three children, John (Shelia) Garner of Huntsville, Cathy Garner of Jacksonville, and Tom (Zora) Garner of Anniston; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Thackery was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Irvine Turnbo, and Ethel Inez Parrish Turnbo; one brother, James Turnbo; one sister, Katherine Edwards; and her second husband, Roger Thackery.
