OBITUARY Mary Lorena Pitts Brown March 3, 1928 – October 5, 2018 Mary Lorena Pitts Brown went to her Heavenly home on October 5, 2018. She was 90 years old. A service to celebrate a life that she lived devoted to Christ will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Good News Assembly of God in Alexandria.

Visitation with her family and friends will begin at 11:00 AM and she will be laid to rest at Anniston Memorial Gardens following the service. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Brown, her parents, Lloyd and Linnie Pitts, and a daughter, Phyllis Brown Sanders. She is survived by her children, Paula Sue Brown Edwards (Ben), Randy Brown (Vicky), Penny Diane Brown, and a Son-in-Law, Danny Sanders (Christina).

She is also survived by grandchildren, Scott Brown (Genie), Michael Sanders (Fran), Mark Sanders (Dawn), Ryan Brown (Jennifer), Stephanie Brode (Jack) and Sharolyn Goodman (Chris). Mrs. Brown’s great-grandchildren are Noah Sanders, Andruw Sanders, Anna Kate Brown, Sarah Sanders, Nathan Brown, Rachel Sanders, Garrison Goodman, Christian Goodman, Hallie Brown, and Nolan Brown. She is also survived by a special family friend, Ramona Ready.

Ms. Brown was a life-long resident of the Saks Community, worked for over thirty years at Blue Mountain Industries, and was a charter member of Good News Assembly of God in Alexandria. Pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons and a nephew, Pete Tucker. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Goodman.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Christmas Children’s Fund, a ministry of Good News Assembly of God in Alexandria. This ministry was started by Mrs. Brown’s daughter, Phyllis J. Sanders and Ms. Brown was a strong supporter of the ministry which provides gifts, clothing and food to children in the community at Christmas.
