Anniston – Funeral service for Mrs. Audrey Cheatwood, 90, will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Leatherwood Baptist Church in Anniston. Rev. Mike Owens will be officiating.

Burial will be held in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Mrs. Cheatwood went to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Terry) Smith; her son, Richard (Sumalee) Cheatwood; four grandchildren, Jason (Christina) Smith, Mo (Ian) Gehres, Kris Mitchell and Mandy Stancil; and nine great-grandchildren, Chloe, Colin, Clara and Caleb Smith, Aiden and Kaiden Gehres and Will, Elijah and Judah Stancil. Mrs. Cheatwood was a longtime member of Leatherwood Baptist Church where she was devoted to serving her Lord. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time, spending time with her family, and actively working through her card ministry.

Mrs. Cheatwood was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. Williams and Lovella Pounds Williams; one daughter, Shirley Mitchell; one son, Len Cheatwood; five brothers; and one sister.
