OBITUARY Opal Jeanette (Garmany) New March 25, 1926 – October 26, 2018 Funeral service for Mrs. Opal Jeanette Garmany New, 92, of Cedartown, Ga will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 28th, 2018 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Bro. Sammy Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-3pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. New passed away at her home in Georgia on Friday afternoon. Survivors include her sons Ted Lee New (Deborah), DeWayne New (Sherry), and Roland Leonard New Jr. (Dyralyn); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Ovie Stone, Geneva Martin, Vera Jean Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. New is preceded in death by her husband, Roland Leonard New; parents John Henry Garmany and Minnie Etta Garmany; daughter Linda Gattis; son-in-law Billy Gattis; brother Curtis Garmany; and sisters Bessie Doss, Ruby Nell Biddle, Sybil Smith, and Nuel Stone. Pallbearers will be Joshua New, Jeremy New, Brandon Mardant, and Jeff Barnes. Mrs. New was a member at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Anniston.

For the past eight years, she’s been a member at New Harmony Baptist Church in Cedartown, Ga. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made in her memory to: Cedar Hill Senior Living at 402 E Ellawood Ave. , Cedartown, Ga 30125.
