Obituary for Jewell Gardner Henderson (McLendon) Jewell died Friday, January 25, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. was born July 4, 1924 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Benjamin Wesley McLendon and Maggie King McLendon. married Ralph Gardner in Morton, Texas in 1945.

After his death she married Fred Morrison in 1977. Later, married, Al Henderson in 1995. Jewell loved to spend time with her family and was a devoted housewife.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Muleshoe. Jewell is preceded in death by her mother, Maggie McLendon, her Father B.W. McLendon and Step-mom Ola McLendon, 6 sisters, 4 brothers, and 3 husbands Ralph Gardner, Fred Morrison, and Al Henderson. Jewell is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Shepard, Muleshoe, Texas; 5 Granchchildren: Steven Shepard and wife Susan, Scott Shepard and wife Holly, Johnny Shepard and wife Kay, James Shepard and wife Jennifer, Jack Shepard and wife Karri; 11 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Jewell’s family is very thankful for the staff at Tanglewood Village and Accolade Hospice. The family suggests memorials be sent to Accolade Hospice, 5201 Indiana Ave. Lubbock, Texas, 79413.
