Jill Marie Lee, 66, of the Town of Clay Banks, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 26, 2018 at the Unity Hospice Jack and Engrid Meng Residence in the Town of Ledgeview with family at her side. She was born February 1, 1952 in Milwaukee, the daughter of James Leonard Wallschlaeger and Barbara May (Dierksmeier) Wallschlaeger. Jill graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1970 and went on to study psychology and sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where she earned her degrees in 1974.

On August 31, 1985, she was united in marriage to Paul Lloyd Lee in Delafield. They were blessed with nearly 33 years of marriage. Jill and Paul moved to Door County in 2001 and made their home in the Town of Clay Banks.

She worked for Briggsville Gardens and then Bonnie Brooke Gardens later on, both in Sturgeon Bay. Jill liked making ceramics – stepping stones and mosaics. She enjoyed reading and playing cards, usually beating her brother and sister in euchre.

Jill had appreciation for the beauty of the world around her and captured it as she photographed family, various sceneries, and flowers and gardens. She offered her support to other cancer patients, knitting slippers and blankets for them. “In your lifetime, you always hope to meet and befriend someone like Jill – honest, caring, kind and humorous with an infectious laugh.

If you were a friend of Jill’s, you were a friend for life. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for you. Her love for her dog, Stanlee, cat, Allie, and all animals and creatures great and small was legendary.

Her passion for flowers and gardening was endless. She looked forward to every spring to begin planting and starting anew. Simply put, Jill loved life and everything in it.

She was courageous in the battle she fought. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will never be forgotten by the people she touched and loved”.

Jill’s love will live on the hearts of all those she will be deeply missed by: her husband, Paul; two sons, Andy (Julia) [granddaughter, Sophie] Lee of Colorado Springs, CO and Christopher (Kim) Lee of Green Bay, WI; mother, Barbara of Phoenix, AZ; four brothers and one sister, Tom (Nancy) Wallschlaeger of Brussels, WI, Rob Wallschlaeger, Bill (Susan) Wallschlaeger, both of Phoenix, AZ, John Wallschlaeger of Pembine, WI, and Karen (Jack) Friess of Cedarburg, WI; 15 nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
