Obituary for Jimmy Newton Jimmy L. Newton age 85 of Thomasville, AL died July 17, 2018 at his home. He was born January 6, 1933 in Bashi, AL to Henley and Clara Newton. He was a retired teacher from Sweet Water High School and a member of Sweet Water Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie P. Newton of Thomasville, AL; son, Dick (Christy) Newton of Thomasville, AL; daughter, Kim (Gray) Smith of Thomasville, AL; sister, Mattie Beth Harrison of Demopolis, AL; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Sweet Water Baptist Church on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Rev. Robert Baker and Rev.

Mark Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Sweet Water Cemetery in Sweet Water, AL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sweet Water Cemetery Fund.
