Mr. Jimmy Ray Marbury was born on July 20, 1942, in Leeds, Alabama, to the late Mr. Rendon A. Marbury, Sr. and the late Mrs. Eula Bell Rose Marbury. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized under the pastorate of the late Rev. I. B. Perry at Macedonia Baptist Church, Leeds, Alabama.

He was a 1960 graduate of R. R. Moton High School, Leeds, Alabama. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served for two years and was honorably discharge.

He was a longtime employee of Lehigh Portland Cement Company in Leeds, Alabama until his retirement. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Mrs. Agnes Catherine Craig Marbury, who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Pamela Marbury and Tara Marbury; one son: Shawn Marbury; two sisters, Mrs. Patricia M. Payne (Sam), Leeds, Alabama and Mrs. Ellena M. Murphy, Leeds, Alabama; six brothers, Rendon A. Marbury, Jr. (Annie), Birmingham, Alabama, Joseph Marbury (Annette), Birmingham, Alabama, Morris Marbury (Betty), Birmingham, Alabama, Harold Marbury (Betty), Leeds, Alabama, Larry D. Marbury (Lee), Leeds, Alabama, and Gregory D. Marbury, Leeds, Alabama; mother-in-law, Mrs. Chinetia Montgomery; sister-in-law, Mrs. Claudette Scott; brothers-in-law, Theodore Craig (Kimberly), and Darnell Craig; stepsons, Bryant Craig and Robert Craig; step-grandchildren, DeAndria Craig (Special Caregiver), Desmond (Krystal) Craig, Rakia (Patrick) Hassell, Jamarcus Pearson, Tanirah Garner, Sade Craig, Janae Jordon, Robert (Melissa) Craig and Annette Craig; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
