MR. WILLIAM E WARD went home to be God’s angel on May 24, 2019, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 69. William was born and raised in Birmingham in 1949 to Ms. Martha Rose Ward and Mr. Thurman Thomas.

He was the third oldest to seven other siblings. He worked at Bakers dairy now known as Barbers for 30 plus years. He was well known throughout the North Birmingham community.

Some knew him as “School Boy”, others “Popcorn” and family “Wee-Wee”. He was a loving individual to many and didn’t mind lending a helping hand to whomever needed it. He leaves behind a loving family and everlasting memories.

He was preceded in death by his father Thurman Thomas, mother Martha Rose Ward and brother Robert James Ward Sr He is survived by: Two daughters, Virginese Ward-Howard (Collice), Virnita P. Ward, Mother of kids Virginia Bozeman; grandchildren, Kristen Mitchell and Kennedy Howard; siblings, Dorothy A. Echols and Joseph Ward of Wilmington, Delaware , Josephine Claughton (Rory), Veronica Ward, Kenneth Ward (Mary), Anthony Ward of Birmingham, Alabama; aunts and uncles Mary Thomas, Willie “Bill” Ward, Charles Ward ( Tina) and Henrietta Ward. He left a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
