Obituary for Jimmy Rippy, Sr. Jimmy Morris Rippy, Sr., age 78, of Guthrie, KY and formerly of Robertson County, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Curtis Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Eugene Young, Craig Russell, Caleb Richardson, William Johnson, Mike Scarborough and Bartolo Real serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 4-8pm and again on Monday from 10am until the hour of service at 1pm. Mr. Rippy was born March 31, 1940 in Springfield to the late Richard Jerry and Froncie Mae Lane Rippy. He was a farmer and member of the Christ Community Apostolic Church.
In addition to his parents Mr. Rippy is preceded in death by his brothers, Odell Rippy, Eugene Rippy, Jerry Rippy, Larry Rippy, Roger Dale Rippy and Billy Rippy; and sisters, Winfred West, Louise Burris, Juanita Grant and Jewell Dean Elmore. Mr. Rippy is survived by his wife, Jennie Proffit Rippy; son, Jimmy (Amanda) Rippy, Jr., of Cedar Hill; daughters, Brenda (Dale) Blackburn of Portland, Pam (William) Johnson of Springfield, Louise (Eugene) Young of Russellville and Carolyn (Craig) Russell of Guthrie; sisters, Betty Cox, Regina Bush and Jeanette Grant, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Michael Blackburn, Nikki Myatt, Macy Johnson, Michelle Richardson, Kaleb Richardson, Ashley Young, Beth Russell and Shane Rippy; and 7 great-grandchildren. Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
