Jo Ann was born on August 23, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas. She transitioned to eternity on April 26, 2018, in Richardson, Texas, at age 68. Jo Ann, as she was affectionately regarded, graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1967.

She went on to attend Kansas City Junior College. Jo Ann enjoyed a lifelong career in operations. She worked at Southwestern Bell where she was an active union representative.

She was also employed at AT&T and ADT Security. Among many hobbies, Jo Ann delighted in watching old movies and anything Marvin Gaye. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jo Ann was predeceased by her parents, Jim Miles and Cleo McKinsey Miles; and her sister, Elizabeth Ann Miles. Those left to cherish precious memories include her son, Tracy Miles and his wife, Melba; grandchildren: Tracy Miles II, Travion Miles, Tyrese Miles, and Tyson Miles; siblings: Shirley Miles Gray, Carolyn Miles Barksdale and her husband, Donald, Jim Miles, Jr. and his wife, Mi-Soon, Jacqueline Miles Shaw and her husband, Keith, and Kevin Miles and his wife, Trichelle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
