OBITUARY Joan Chaisson September 3, 1932 – October 29, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Joan H. Chaisson, 86, passed away on October 29, 2018 at the South Dennis Healthcare Nursing Home. She was born in Natick and was the daughter of the late Alfred E. and Helen (Fraser) Holt. Joan graduated from Natick High and went on to receive her LPN from Addison Gilbert Nursing School.

She worked at Addison Gilbert Hospital and Leonard Morse Hospital before becoming a full time mother to 6 children while working at the Murphy School cafeteria and was also an assistant Girl Scout leader. Joan enjoyed with her husband Leo, watching many of their grandchildren’s sporting and school events. She loved travelling, camping and her yearly trips to Alaska.

She was also a member of a bowling league for many years. She was a kind and caring soul always thinking of others before herself. Joan is predeceased by husband of 62 years Leo V. Chaisson She is survived by her beloved children, Gail and her husband Bruce Speca of West Dennis, Lynda and her husband Thomas Simeone of South Yarmouth, Leo Jr. and his wife Cindy of Holliston, Susan and her husband Gary McCarthy of Upton, Keith Chaisson and his partner Paul Jacques of Orange, CT and Michael Chaisson of Anchorage, AK; nine grandchildren, Kristen Simeone, Tricia Simeone , Nicole Simeone, Timothy Speca, Kevin McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy, Angela Chaisson, Leo Chaisson III and Alison Chaisson.

She is also survived by her sisters Sandi Giordano, Beverly Major, Nancy Gossum, and the late Barbara Greene. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law Marie Czarnetzki and many nieces, nephews and their families. Visitation, services and a reception will be held November 2nd at the Doane Beal and Ames Funeral Home, Route 134, South Dennis starting at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral service starting at 10:30.

Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Holiday Fund at Thirwood Place, 237 North Main St, South Yarmouth MA, 02664. For online condolences, please visit www.
