Obituary for Joan E. Doyon Joan E. (Flaherty) Doyon, 83, of Methuen, passed away at home on July 20, 2018 surrounded by her devoted family. She was born on July 30, 1934 to the late Anthony and Ellen (Tamblyn) Flaherty in Methuen and graduating with the Class of 1952 from Searles High School. Joan worked for many years as a tax examiner for the IRS.

She enjoyed telling jokes and loved spending time with her family. Joan toured the country extensively with her late husband Richard on his Goldwing motorcycle from Yellowstone to the Blue Ridge Parkway. They also travelled to the Florida Keys with their camper.

In her later years, Joan spent much of the summer months in Old Orchard Beach enjoying many lobster rolls. Joan touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be loved, cherished and missed. Joan was the beloved wife of the late Richard Doyon.

She was the devoted mother of Cheryl Mello and her husband Stephen of Lawrence. Joan is also survived by her grandchildren; Matthew Van Dyke, and Lauren Van Dyke, her step-grandchildren; Angela Rosenlof, Alisha Nadeau and Justin Mello, her former son in law John Van Dyke and her nieces and nephew. A private graveside service will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery of Methuen at the convenience of the family.
