Joan Elizabeth Thackston, 58, resident of Herrin passed away Thursday, February 2, 2019 at her residence. Joan was born February 18, 1961 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Elijah and Edna (Wright) Kimmel. She married Robert Thackston who survives.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a son: Matthew, three daughters: Amy Jo, Amanda and Nicole, two brothers: Jake and Jack, three sisters: Delores, Charolette and Wanda and 4 grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 7 siblings: Gloria, Lillian, Vickie, Sheila, Irma, Eva and Kathryn. Joan will be cremated per her request and there will be no public services.
