Obituary for Joan M. Garramone UTICA- Joan M. Garramone, 81, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Abraham House. Joan was born on January 1, 1937 in Utica to the late Leo and Mildred Uerz. She graduated from UFA.

Joan was a nurse’s aide with Faxton Children’s Hospital. She is survived by her four children, Stephen (Sara Perryman) Schumacher, Scott (Jen) Schumacher, Frederick Schumacher and Kim (Martin) Lowe; grandchildren, Lacy, Joel, Caeleigh, Daniel and Ryan; brother Walter (Mary) Uerz and many dear friends especially Judy Piazza and Rose Sanders. Joan was predeceased by her parents; husband, Francis Garramone and sister Evelyn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday at 1:00 PM at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd. , Utica. Joan’s family would like to thank the staff of the Abraham House and the nurses of Hospice & Palliative Care Inc., especially Crystal, Irene and Annie for the care and compassion shown her during her stay.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Joan’s name may be made to the Abraham House of Hospice & Palliative Care Inc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Joan M. Garramone please visit our Sympathy Store.
