Obituary for Joan “Chez” Yukob (Braun) Joan Marie “Chez” Braun Yukob, 85, of Rock Hill, left us on July 12, 2018 with her family by her side at Piedmont Medical Center. She was born November 26, 1932 in New Jersey, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Braun. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Brandon Yukob; brother, Joseph Braun; and sister, Dorothy DeGhetto.

As an active and devoted member of the Catholic Community, Joan served as a Eucharistic Minister, participated in Adoration and was active in many church groups. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford, NJ, Class of 1950. After graduation, she attended nursing school.

Joan relocated to SC in 1971 and retired as a Line Leader from Smith Enterprises where she worked from 1971 to 1985. Joan’s interests included loving her family, serving her faith and cheering on her favorite football teams. Joan also enjoyed playing cards, especially Canasta, bingo and board-games with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish Joan’s memory are her daughter, Susan Y. Cameron (John) of Rock Hill; sons, Richard Yukob (Heather) of FL, Mark Yukob (Pam) of Clover and Joseph Yukob of York; grandchildren, Dori Smith (Todd), Jimmy Yukob, Angel Yukob, Richelle Morgan (Dwight), Alec Yukob and Ava Burnette; great-grandchildren, Tyler Gage Yukob, Kailee MaRae Brandon, Noah Yukob, Jayden Yukob, Sydney Yukob and VikLynne Marie Morgan; sister, Eileen Johnson of Elmwood Park, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 20, 2018 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Fort Mill.

In lieu of flowers, Joan would be honored for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project in her name. Online condolences may be directed to: www. basscares.com.
