Obituary for Joan M. Rogers (Pouchak) BRUNSWICK – Joan M. Pouchak Rogers, 79, passed on to be with her parents in heaven after her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on Friday, March 23, 2018 with her beloved family by her side. She was born in Troy on January 14, 1939, the daughter of the late John and Archange Langlois Pouchak. Joan was raised in Maplewood and was a graduate of Watervliet High School.
She was employed by the New York Telephone Company in Menands for over 37 years before retiring at the age of 55. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Everyone cherished Joan for her caring and kindhearted nature.
Joan was compassionate about family traditions and holidays, especially Christmas. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping, and spending time with family, friends, and her pooches. Joan made an impact on everyone’s life that she came across and will forever be missed by her family and friends.
She is the beloved wife of Robert J. Rogers, Sr.; loving mother of Robert J. (Peggy) Rogers, Jr. of East Greenbush; adored grandmother of Eric (Derek) Rogers and Brittany Rogers both of North Greenbush; great grandmother of Garrett Joseph Waters; dear sister of Peter (Beverly) Pouchak of Cohoes. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:45 am from the Parker Bros.
Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Following cremation, Joan’s ashes will be buried in the spring in Memory Gardens in Colonie.
