Obituary for Charles Brown New Lebanon – Charles Owen Brown, 88, of New Lebanon, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, August 7, 2018. Born in Pittsfield, MA on June 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Jay and Catherine Brown. Charles grew up in Pittsfield until 1941 when the family moved to New Lebanon.

He was a 1948 graduate of New Lebanon High and after graduation, remained living and working for the rest of his life. From a young age Charles started working on the family farm, a job he loved, and continued to enjoy into the later years of his life. When not hard at work on the farm, Charles enjoyed going to the stock car races with his friends at the Lebanon Valley Speedway.

He enjoyed them so much, in fact, that he never missed a race there until this past racing season. Charles is survived by his three children; Donna Ast of Del Rio, TN, Cynthia (Michael) Miller of Daytona, FL, and Charles J. (Kimberly) Brown of Lebanon Springs, his four grandchildren; Brittany, Daniel, Amber, and Travis, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his three siblings; Fred Brown, Katie Hoctor, and Veronica Michaels.

A visitation will be held Friday, August 10 from 4 until 7 PM at Hall and Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY Route 43, Stephentown. A funeral service will take place Saturday, August 11 at 11 AM at the funeral home, with interment to follow in Cemetery of the Evergreens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be considered to a charity of one’s choice.
