Obituary for Joseph Rider ALBANY – Joseph Christopher Rider, age 29, the cherished and beloved son of Christopher Joseph Rider and Teresa Ann Kirchman, passed from this life in the comfort of his home on Monday, September 3, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born in Albany on November 1, 1988. Throughout his life he provided his family with love and laughter.
Whether it was riding his scooter until the wheels needed to be replaced, hanging with his cousins, playing video games, enjoying the outdoors, visiting Lake George and enjoying all it has to offer or going to the Mall, Joseph lived life to the fullest and had fun with all those who were with him. He enjoyed going to summer camp with his cousins Donald Holmberg and Christopher Snyder both of whom he now joins in heaven. They were cousins who were more like brothers and in life were inseparable.
Joseph had an adventurous spirit. He loved camping, animals, babies, swimming in swimming pools, fireworks, chicken wings and rock and roll music. A highlight of his young life was attending his senior prom at Scotia Glenville High School.
Everything about it; his date, his handsome tuxedo, riding in a limousine and the fun he had that evening all made for memories that would last him a lifetime. To know Joseph was to love him. He had great ability to touch the hearts of all those he met and he will live on in all of our hearts forever.
In addition to his cousins Donald and Christopher, Joseph was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Edward Rider Sr. and Tindra Lourinia; his maternal grandfather, William H. Kirchman, Jr. and his uncle, William “Billy” Kirchman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Aubree Mullally and Teresa Christina Kirchman; his maternal grandparents, Caroline and Prentiss Eddy; his paternal aunts and uncle, Michele Oathout, John E. Rider, Dawn Hart, Jill Aguilar and Pamela Murphy; his maternal aunts, Michele Mickel, Christina Kirchman and Donna Barnes and many loving cousins. A special thank you is extended to the Community Hospice for the care and support they offered to Joseph and his entire family.
A service for Joseph will be held on Friday at 10 am in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. The Reverend Roland Dube, pastor of My Father’s House Ministries in Watervliet will officiate.
