BROOKFIELD – A Mass of Christine Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19 in St. Edward Church, celebrated by Monsignor Robert Siffrin, for Joann M. Reilley, 85, of Brookfield who passed away Thursday evening at her residence with her family by her side. Mrs. Reilley was born Nov. 11, 1933 in Youngstown and was a daughter of Gilbert and Dorothy Crouch Fitzpatrick and was a lifelong member of the community.
Mrs. Reilley was employed by the Hills Department Store for ten years in charge of security and assistant store manager from 1971 thru 1981. She was also the activity coordinator at Maplecrest Nursing Home from 1989 thru June of 1999 when she retired. She is a member of St. Edward Parish, Catholic Daughters of America, former member of St. Nicholas Parish in Struthers and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society.
Mr. and Mrs. Reilley were founding members of St. Luke Parish in Boardman where she was a camp fire girls and cubscout leader. She was a member and past president of the Youngstown Head Injury Support Group, lobbyist in Columbus for state board of Head Injury Support Group and certified activity coordinator for nursing homes in which she received several awards for her dedication. Mrs. Reilley was a 1951 graduate of Ursuline High School and played the drums in the school marching band.
As an avid bowler, Mrs. Reilley bowled in several leagues and was known as “Irish” Mrs. Reilley leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Cindy (Nick) Dominic of Liberty Township; sons, Jeff (Lucy) Reilley of New Market, Virginia and Timothy Reilley of Brookfield; grandchildren, Mark (Heather) Meszar; Patrick (Amanda) Reilley; Catie (Paul) Bailey; Sean (Melanie) Reilley; Kevin Reilley; Daniel Dominic; Katiy Reilley; Dillon Reilley; Joshua Reilley; Ashley (Brandon) Young; great grandchildren, Calvin, Megan, Ashley, Elizabeth, Malachi, Alexis, Paul, JoJo, Ethan and Bailey. Beside her husband, Charles J. Reilley whom she married Sept. 12, 1953 and who passed away June 8, 2001 she was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Patrick Charles Reilley, Charles Reilley, Jr. Sean Michael Reilley, and Michael Reilley; brothers, Raymond and Gilbert Fitzpatrick The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward Church.
